Curb Appeal

When a buyer looks at pictures online or pulls up to a house, that first impression goes  a long way.

Homes with high curb appeal bring a higher dollar and sell faster. Here are few tips for higher curb

  1. Facial: Clean the outside. Good old soap and water will remove most dirt and grime from the outside of the house. A long boat scrubber works, or you can rent a power washer. ($50-$75)

  2. Paint: Freshen up the house and trim paint. Take a chip of paint and any paint store will be able to match it.

  3. Roof: Make sure to replace curled or faded shingles.

  4. Lawn: Mow the grass, weed whack the edges, trim flowers, put down new mulch.

  5. Accent Colors: If possible, paint the front door a bright color. Change the door hardware and install a heavy brass knocker. All this can make an old door look brand new.

  6. New Mailbox: A new mailbox can add additional curb appeal. Whether it is brand new or painted with new numbers.

  7. Make your house numbers stand out. Use new numbers from Hobby Lobby or any hardware store to give them a new look.
